I was reading the thread about replacing/reparing the gauges on an M900. I'm encountering the same problem. The needles sweep upon turning the key but after that it's not responsive. I'm trying to take apart the unit to heat up the solder connections but can finish dis-assembling the unit because the needles have to come out in order to remove the circuit board from the bezel it's being held in by.

How do the needles come out? I'm a little apprehensive about just reefing on them. Seems to me they should come out more willingly.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'heat up the solder'

You can prise them off with a couple of small spoons, the black center of the needle is a cover, you need to get under this with the spoons, mark the position of the needles before you take them off so they will zero when you put them back on.

Really?

I tried pulling on them with pliers but I can see that it puts a fair bit of pressure on the motors and the four pins on the side of the motors. Are the needles just in that tight?
