Can someone who purchased a 2002 S4 outside of Calif. tell me if the sticker(s) on the frame specifically state that the bike is certified for use in Calif. I'm looking at a new S4 outside of Calif., and the DMV website states that the bike must specifically state it is certified for Calif. Thanks.

as far as i know, all ducatis brought in via Ducati North America are CA legal. look for "CARB" or "State of California".
CARB = California Air Resources Board and should be on the federal emissions sticker.

Kev,

On my 'bought in California' S4, the only stickers that specifically references "U.S. E.P.A. and California Regulations" are stuck to the fender panel bolted to the frame under the seat. They have no VIN# on them.

You can borrow mine if you need to.

Thanks everyone. Nick, thanks for confirming the sticker's location. I'm going to ask the dealer to e-mail me a picture of it to confirm I would be able to register the bike here.

I just did this whole drill last week at the Newhall DMV. My Foggy was in Georgia.
The California sticker is under the seat as Nick said but the ever more important one is the Federal sticker that allows it into the country. After they found the CA sticker they wanted to see the Federal and I didn't know what she was talking about. (Never been asked for that before)
That one was under my right carbon side panel.
If you have all the extra parts, side panels, bottom fairing, etc. You should take a allen wrench set with you, as they will have to see that all the #'s match up with the title, as well as the required stickers...

Hope that helps, I was sweating for 1/2 hour trying to find that Federal sticker .
