I'm debating adding an old 2002 Ducati Monster S4 to my stable and was wondering if there is a signifcant difference from the 2005 Ducati Monster 1000s? I never rode a liquid cooled bike and was wondering if I would be able to feel a difference on the street?

The S4 has the 916 SBK engine. I almost bought one as my first Duc. The guy who had it rode it around for me and could hardly keep the front wheel on the ground. I bought a 620 instead.

Ironically, i've sold the 620 and now have and ST4s with a high torque version of the 996 SBK engine. The ST4 is basically a Monster S4 with farings and a differnent seat pan. So i've almost come full circle.

I have no experice with the M1000. But seeing as its 3 years newer and less complicated as its an aircooled 2v, it has its advantages too.

I have to say i like 4v water cooled Ducs. A lot!
