There is one locally for $4000. It only has 1400 miles on it.

The only aftermarket stuff it a corbin seat, front cowl, and saddle bags.

It looks stellar, super clean as you would expect with the low miles. So... Should I do it?

I wouldn't touch a ten-year-old bike with that few miles with a ten-foot-pole. That's less than one tank of gas per year on average. It's spent its whole life sitting and deteriorating.

Anything that old, I would want to see at least 25K miles on it, and at least a couple thousand of those recent miles.

I have a 02 M750Sie(avatar pic) and it also had alot of upgrades.

ohlins steering damp
Clip ons
triple clamp
Framer sliders
bar end mirrors
kick stand bypass
adj levers+reservoirs off M900 or SBK's
3k original miles

Paid $3000

Its a bad economy right now and CASH TALKS...
If he wont let you take it to a mechanic then walk away there will be other bikes for sale. Also most bike shops do prebuyers inspections for around $150.00.Call around some will even go to the buyers location for you.

I did mine at the Local Duc dealer and it was well worth the piece of mind...
