Hello,

Sorry if this has been covered...

I'm looking at a 2009 M1100. The dealer says it has no red key, just one black and a "key card." Does that sound right?

Also, on the '09 models, does doing the 600-mile service result in a higher rev limiter setting? The bike has 2000 miles and no service records...

Cheers, Tom

Yup, no red key to worry about. Not sure about the rev limit change at service but it is changed if you add the Termi set up with the race ECU. A mandatory change BTW. It is a much better bike and the sound!!! Oh, the sound!!!

OKPanic..thanks for that. Is there any indication on the LCD display/tach that this has been done, or do you just have to wind it up? Do you know what the breakin limit is?

Thanks, Tom

the break in limit is 6k. it will rev past that but the red shift lights flash on the top of the gauge cluster. If the 600 mile service has not been done there is a small wrench indicator in the tach display on the right side. It come on at 620 miles and won't go away until it is reset by the dealership.

There's an orange wrench that lits up when service is required. When done, the dealer reset it and the light goes off. No light? Woud bet service done.
