07 Monster S4R with stock Showa suspension....SETUP HELP!

Lets start with I weight 220 without gear.

Im looking for the suspension settings both front and rear for a 07 monster s4r with Showa suspension.

Front: Preload (in mm), rebound (amount of clicks) and compression (how many turns).

Rear: Preload (in mm or rings showing), rebound (amount of clicks) and compression (amount of click).

I don't want to max out my preload on the forks causing spring binding....well so I've read.

I know that I should install new springs all around for my weight but in the meantime I want the best/safest settings with what I got!

I checked the link, I didn't see where it stated it was for what weight.

My understanding is that for optimal performance you will need a spring change first, all the way around. It has been suggested many times that the base Ducati comes set up for a rider between the weights of 150-170lbs. Thus you and I are out of bounds.

I've had my suspensions worked over at the shop with an Ohlins tech (Paul Smart and S4RS are both full Ohlins) and while the springing is light, we found a good compromise that keeps me happy for daily riding.

thanks for the info! I agree with caferacermike....those recommended settings dont specify a weight range.

I know I need new springs all around but want to tune what I have now in the meantime.

So....anyone around my weight who knows their settings please let me know. Then I can tweak from there if need be!
