Being that the torque and HP are very similar, but that the newer M800S has the updated frame, is the left-over but new 02 M900S worth $1000 (dealer asking $9000) more than the 03 M800 (dealer asking $8000)? Is the only difference the supension? Does the 02 M900 really have the ride height adjuster?

Thanks for your opinions.

The 800 has revised emissions that include an ugly charcoal can that can be seen hanging below the equally ugly oversized side panels. Ditch it! Also, I belive the 900 has a 170 rear tire, while the 800 has a 160.

If it were me, I would get the M800S.

As for tire size, you can put on a wider tire than your rim is designed to hold, but that doesn't mean it's going to work correctly. If the rim is too narrow, it changes the tire profile and you can end up with less total grip than a smaller size that fits the rim.

I got a m800 and love it. The rear tire is skinny and I really wish it was fatter. Also wouldn't mind a little more power, but it keeps me in check.

You should check insurance on both bikes also.
