Also, what are the "stock" settings for the S4 on the front and rear suspension? My manual seems only to address the 900SS settings. I'm looking for a good place to start. My forks chatter my teeth and the rear shock drags it's butt. Not to mention the wallow in sweepers.... i way about 175 + full leathers.

The S4 specific manual states the stock setting. For me, they left a lot to be desired though. Once you get your preload set (30mm-40mm range) the compression and dampening should be set at whatever gives you the best control for your weight and style of riding. There are a lot of good books and web links that address proper suspension setup, look around and set your bike up to your liking.
