I have started to notice that the response on my 2000 M990ie (dark) is quite "fluffy" when revving off idle. Sitting at a set of lights, engauge 1st, and start to bring up the revs before letting out the clutch, the first blip of the throttle is not clean and it takes until the revs are up above 3,000 rpm before the response is normal.

The bike is basically standard and has only done about 12,000km (9,000m). It has got Staintune stainless pipes on, and had it's 10,000km service not long ago. The plugs look good and the aircleaner is in good condition.

Any ideas?

fluffy, wow, what a describtor, yet I know exactly what your talking about.

I can offer you this. The few times I've seen this happen in cars its usually when they install an exhaust thats a bit over sized for the engine. Most people dont realize that upon a larger diameter exhaust, you loose exhaust velocity, which can lead to a lose of low end torque, unless properly balanced on the intake side.
