Eccentric chain tensioner missing?

Hello everyone.

I just bought me my first Ducati. It is a 2005 Monster S2r. When I bought it the chain was tight, I think to tight . Anyways I rode it for a few days and now it seems way to loose. So I do the natural thing and look up some how to's on tightening the chain. I watched this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1x7znPCY3E That when I start looking and notice there is no "Eccentric chain tensioner".

So my question is do I need that eccentric tensioner to adjust my chain and if so where can I buy one.

Bonus. I attached pics of what I am looking at.

Thank you in advance for help.

You need a tool to adjust. The cogs should be on the other side of your sprocket.

Several places to order one. I will not recommend Moto Manufacturing. Shid customer service.

I posted a pic of the sprocket, that is the side that faces the hub. There are no cogs on it.

Damn, that is what I was afraid of. How fucked am I? Is there anywhere I can order one online? I do not live within driving distance of a Ducati dealer.

You can go here and download the parts manual for your bike.

http://www.ducati.com/ducati_genuine_parts.do

Find the part number you need, and start searching. Ducati of Omaha is one place you can buy original Ducati parts online.

check out the schematic on the link that RedHouse put up then search ebay for the part and the tool. good luck.

I don't see how someone forgets to put on that part nor how they sell a bike like that. I hope you got it for a steal.

@RedHouse Thanks for posting that link.

@1UglyBastard Someone didn't forget to put it on. After some research I found that the cush drive failed and ground off the tabs of the eccentric cog. I did not get the bike at a steal price as I thought it was a good working bike :/

OK....cause I'm bored as hell at work....I downloaded a parts manual for your bike.

It looks to me like it's a part of the hub assembly, and not available separately?

I cant upload the .pdf page from the manual, but it's page 84 in the english version.
