Monster 1100 Evo crankcase leaking

Last fall I took a fall on my bike going 35 mph around a turn. I managed to pick the hike up and ride it home. It looked alright with just minor cosmetic damage, but after a while I noticed there was a leak in the crankcase. There appears to be a small hole, not even visible that oil is bubbling out of. My question is can this be welded? My friend is a very good welder and I would rather pay to have that done then over 4000$ for a new crank case. If I can I have a few questions.
I'm sure I will need to drain oil possibly by using a solvent, if so what solvent?
Will I need to take the crank case of the bike to have it welded? Or can I leave it on?
If I have to take it off how do I go about doing this? If I need I mechanic to do it I will but I would like to keep the price down and do it myself.
Any help is appreciated!
