My Monster is singing to me,..no really.

I pulled my 05 S2R in the garage this morning after about an hours ride and shut her off. Once the bike was off I noticed a distinct tone being intermittantly repeated. Its faint, but sounds like a tuning fork, sort of like when you rub the rim of a crystal glass. It "sings" for about a second then goes silent, several seconds later it repeats. I can't find the source. I'm guessing though it might be one of the heat shields cooling or maybe the floating rotors cooling, any other ideas? Anybody else hae a singing Monster, its actaully kinda of cool assuming no damage is/has being done.

I've had the same thing. It was coming from the gas tank I think. It's only happened that one time but was cool

Mine does this occasionally after shutdown when it's got about a half tank (or less) of fuel. Pop the filler cap and it quits.

mine too. Maybe it's some sort of tank venting from the plastic tank?

No mine is a steel tank. Did it again last night of all times. I did pop the cap open and it stopped. Then I noticed I had a flat

Sorry bout the flat. I guess it happens to most monsters then. Personally, I kinda like it.

Me too. First time I heard it, it took me a while to figure out it was even coming from my bike. I lasted for well over an hour.

Polpetta's 05 620 does this constantly.* it's not a venting issue because opening the gas cap doesn't change it... and no hiss.

My 04 800 doesn't do this at all.

it's weeeeeeird.* I think it's an electrical thing myself...
