Gear Shift Lever (Help)

My bike nearly took a spill the other day, I was able to catch it but I bent my gear shift lever so I can't get into first gear because it's being blocked by my side stand. Does anyone know where i can buy that part? I went to Propowersports but it's back ordered and isn't expect to ship for 3-6 weeks...NOOOOOOO! Please Help!!!!!!!

Re: Gear Shift Lever (Help)

Number 1: try bending it back to shape.
NUmber 2: Ebay.
Number 3: Go with an aftermarket piece from cyclecat, etc.
NUmber 4: Try a local parts yard.
Number 5: Post something in the want ads here.
Number 6: Call a different ducati dealer, i.e. ducati seattle.

the list goes on.......

Re: Gear Shift Lever (Help)

Dropped mine about an hour ago. Thankfully in the dirt! Dumb move: I put the key in while standing next to it and managed to bump the starter button.....it was in gear! Broke my 2 hour old mirror and bent my shifter. Mirror is cracked but useable so it stays for now. I carefully bent the shifter back with my hand and it's fine.

Re: Gear Shift Lever (Help)

With some simple tools you can remove that lever from the bike. Then you can try to bend it back without worrying about breaking anything else on the bike. In the meantime, try eBay for another lever.

Re: Gear Shift Lever (Help)

I took off the gear shift lever and took a mallet and banged the "F" out of it and it bent back into shape. I rode to work today. I think I'll still buy a new one.
