Fuel tank support rod: LOL!!!

This thing doesn't even work!!! What a joke.

What do you use to keep the tank up without falling?

Mine works fine. It took me a while to figure it out though. If you lift your tank pretty high, you should be about to put it right behind the curve in the bottom of the tank. I don't think that made sense. Unfortunately I can't find a picture to show you.

Re: Fuel tank support rod: LOL!!!

Well, after the fifth time I knocked into the 'tank stand' & dropped the &*%#[email protected]^ tank on the backs of my hands, I bent up a little 'Z' shaped piece of aluminium that pinches the end of the stand & cradles the tank seam, wrapped in electric tape to avoid scratching; I keep it in the alleged 'under-seat storage' compartment. Not elegant, but functional.

Mine worked okay until the thin rubber channel broke and now it is just a nub and pretty useless. I might take it off to save the 2 oz

A short 2X4 laying across the airbox works great

My support rod works fine You just have to put the U-shaped end piece in the right place like Toolfan says.

I've seen a lot of ppl rotate the top portion 180 degrees from where it's supposed to be. Then the little tab won't hold anything and ends up breaking off. Maybe yours is backwards?

Re: Fuel tank support rod: LOL!!!

Mine holding a bag of trash in my trash can. I like my hands too much, from the start did not trust it so I run a piece of wire from the tank hold down(pointing up, not down) to the seat lock cross member. Works great tank full or empty and the tank won't guillatine your fingers until you remove the wire. If you like the excitement remember don't bump anything and if you do move quick it's your finger you could save!

Re: Fuel tank support rod: LOL!!!

Take a short peace of 2x4 and put a V in each end of it, one to place on the handle bars and one under the tank.
