Re: anyone doing any late season boarding this week?
I am soooo glad to see other DMLers that snowboard or ski! This was my first season snowboarding, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I am to the point where I obsess over snowboarding gear and parts for my bike. Hit up Reno / Tahoe's craigslist for deals on gear. I picked up a '07 Burton Custom 160 for $200. A college kid bought it late last season, and then needed money for his spring break trip this year. The board was practically BRAND NEW!
I was on the mountain with my little human, who is seven years old, every saturday and sunday from the first weekend in January till the last Saturday in March. The both of us joined a program where Tyler (the little human) gets two hour lessons in the morning, and then gets to free ride the rest of the day. I volunteer for two hours and then I get to freeride with Tyler till they close the lifts at 4:30. This program here in Reno runs for 8 weeks and only costs $125 a person, and it last 8-12 weeks depending on snow and the conditions of the mountain. At the end of the program you get to snowboard / ski at Mt Rose for $10!!!
If any of you are going to be in the Tahoe area please hit me up for snowboarding next season. I am excited to hit up the other resorts in the Tahoe area.
Bike: '00 Monster 750
Likes: beer, women, and when my wife isn't b*tchin at me for spending more time with my motorcycle than her, and of course the smell of fresh rubber in the morning
Dislikes: mini-vans, warm beer, that guy who gets in the express lane at the grocery knowing that he is over 12 items, and I really really dislike MINI-VANS!
Pick up line: Hey, sweatheart wanna go for a ride on my monster?
Stands behind bike and points down
