|Capt baz||I wish $1000 was all I spent on carbon fiber. Yes, Guido is great to deal with. I also put a K&N high flow filter in place of the stock one. The Termi cans do come with an ECU upgrade, but doesn't do what the RB does. The exhaust valve rarely moves in the box of spare parts where it lives now.|

Yes, Guido is very professional. I purchased a Lithium and close to $1000 of carbon bits from him over the last couple of years.
Quality stuff. RapidBike units are awesome but why? Didn't you have an UpMap key with your Termi?
Ps. You may want to remove your exhaust valve as I don't think the RB unit prevents it from closing.

|Capt baz||I have a '16 M1200R. Had the Termi cans dealer installed @ delivery. 1200R already has the 58mm head pipes. I purchased the 1200R RAPiD BIKE tuner from Guido @ SHiFT-TECH. It transformed the the performance from already great, to Herculean.|

ECU UpMap update.
Termignoni T800 website shows the Monster 1200 is now supported for their UpMap.

|Buhgaboo||Anyone running a slip on with or without a tune may want to immediately bypass the exhaust flap...frankly I think everyone may need to but I can't say for sure ...if your having any problems I would love to see a picture of your valves...but aside from that my starting problems went away immediately after disconnecting the exhaust flap whilst using a slip on and installing the upMap had zero improvement starting hot or cold until the flap was unhooked...the carbon buildup i experienced was under completely stock circumstances...adding a slip on amplified the problem at an alarming rate...I'm only posting this as cautionary tale ...did it before thinking it was octane related ..it may still be...the 1200 may be immune to my level of issues but sincerely I just think I got here first...and twice @ 52k miles...either way if your experiencing starting issues try disconnecting the flap...if your feeling adventurous snap a pic of the valves next service|

On June 1rst, I had the ECU removed and promptly sent it to Rexxer, Virginia for a flash.
It was received at US customs in NYC where it was held for nearly one month.
Rexxer's two day turnaround time was respected where it was shipped back to Canada.
However, Canadian custom held it for another two weeks.
The soap opera finally ended which i'm pleased to report.
All is well and the ECU performs flawlessly. Exhaust valve is disabled and so are the Lambda sensors. It's operating strictly in open loop.
The word "RACING" appears when the ignition boots up. Couldn't be more pleased with Rexxer. Awesome job.
For Canadians :
Consider crossing the border with your ECU and ship it from withing the US.
Also consider having it shipped back to a US border town and bring it back yourself.
Show Canada customs your paperwork and all will be fine. This will save you the aggravation and delays I had to endure.

It was all done by a local, authorised Rexxer representative, not by me directly. They did all the measurments (like AFR) and all the data you mentioned were provided.
Keep in mind, issues I had were not "poor fueling" or something - i think it was a more general problem with software. It is difficult to describe what i meant with horrible power delivery, not smoething you can get by ruining intake and exhaust... the fueling was fine, just the throttle had an annoying, uneven lag to it (present only when half-opened the throttle in mid range).
And no, only the first time the ECU had to be shipped to Germany. I doubt it is a rule though... Rexxer wasn't eager to let them flash my bike locally.

About multiple map attempts:
Didn't Rexxer know about your model, year, flash specifications such as:
-air filter type
-Closed loop (O2) disabled or not
-Exhaust valve disabled or not
-DB baffles removed or not
Did you have to send your ECU to Rexxer each time?

First map (winter time) - excelent power output on dyno, flat torque curve from 3 to 10k rpm.
(spring, first ride) - check engine issues on Urban mode (torque sensor error)
Then came lots of playing ping-pong and test drives with different settings and maps (incl. stock) to proove that it is not hardware issue of the bike.
Second map - based on 1200 not 1200S this time, issue fixed, but... undrivable. Horrible power delivery (delay and sudden surge of power at certain throttle amount)
Third map - Good power delivery, bike stalls when clutched more then it did stock (yes, mine does that, no with previous maps it did not)
Fourth map - stalls less, undriveable power delivery again, back to non linear torque.
Fifth map - stalls less (but still does), good delivery, non linear torque.
It turned out that it simply makes even more torque at 6-7 k rpm then in first map, peak power remained the same. Every new map took a week or two to prepare, all involved were getting a little tired so accepted the fith result - It is pretty close to what I wanted. A little bit less stalling and a little bit less torque (flat curve) would be spot on perfect. It is still a lot more fun then stock now. Would love to compare to 1200R, i'd guess mine has more go (especially 2017+ R).
Oh - and the drive modes started to make sense
2) there were a lots of stock ducatis tested on that dyno, including mine. Knowing the factory output and RWHP of them all - it was simple maths. Cross checked with those other ducatis and the difference was around 1% - so for me it was acceptable. 20PS I mentioned is the pessimistic version.
