How many of you change sprockets and chains like tires?
I've generally been good with 2 rear sprockets/chains to 1 front sprocket. Seems to be about the same with tires, 2 rears to 1 front.

I've generally been good for about 15K per set of chain and sprockets. I'm not a hard rider, but I also don't take care of the chain as well as I ought, so those balance out some. I'm sure I could get more than 20K if I cleaned and lubed it more often.

Depends on a lot of factors. I believe it's common to get around 15k miles from a chain, but you have to take into account what kind of riding you do (casual vs. aggressive), where you ride (pavement vs. dirt), how you maintain it (degreaser and lube), how tight/loose the chain is, etc.
If your chain is loose, it'll last longer, but it'll wear your sprockets down faster. If your chain is tight, the sprockets will last longer, but your chain will wear down faster.

How many mile should I hope to get from my 696 chain?
I've just acquired the bike and put it on the road and the chain is at it's maximum adjustment. The bike has 1856 miles on it! Seems low for this much adjustment. Am I right or is this normal?
