I am new to Ducati Family. Started out motorcycling back in 2004. just got bored with all the car modification scene and decided to sell my car for a bike. An Aprilia RS125 was my first scoot. starting with an Italian bike, i got into the Italian bike groups fast, there was my first encounter with the Ducati especially the Monster. fell in love the first time but hasn't got the money to buy it.
Fast forward to 2012, i came back into motorcycling, a Kawasaki ER6N and a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K6 were in the stable for the weekend rides. I love the naked bikes compare to full faired superbikes, but the ER6N didn't look and feel that great to ride due to the weight and seat height (I am a tiny guy at 5'2). so i sold the two and bought a Harley Sportster 48. it was a beautiful bike and i could flat foot easily, i was in love with the bike and i love making it mine, bought a lot of accessories (no chrome boys, all black and badass stuff).
After 3 years and 3 sportsters and a rigid Dyna. i decided that i have enough with the Harleys. i still like them but after a test drive on a mate's Monster 1100, it's night and day with the Harleys, especially my Rigid Dyna Chopper which has no front brake, 21" front rim and springer seat. so I decided to look for a Monster. Found a 795 a week later. fairly stock 2012 in Ducati Red. bike is beautiful even in stock form, handles great, light and torquey. not bad for an air-cooled twin. riding position and seat height is perfect for me. i'm getting a Quat-D exbox real soon
All my Harley mates said that Ducatis don't sound as good as the Harleys, but i began to enjoy the Ducati sound after a while, and it's a beautiful symphony just like the Harleys, just a different tone. and with just a flick of the throttle, all the boys are standing still on their harleys LOL.
Looking forward to learn more about Ducati especially the Monster
