Parting out 2013 Monster 696 ABS
I recently picked up a wrecked 2013 Monster 696 ABS (black) that surprisingly was not totaled by the liability insurance company who insured the party at fault (auto driver). The seller had no insurance. It has a minor frame dent, bent bars, and the usual cosmetic damage (fender, seat cushion, etc.) but worst of all (discovered after I bought, amatuer mistake), the kickstand was out of whack and turns out it ripped out of the housing that is part of the engine case. Tried to tap a 2mm larger bolt (12mm) and was successful in grabbing about a 1/2" of thread but it wasn't enough. bottom line is the engine case needs to be replaced. Anyway, I got into the deal knowing it may involve too much to get it up and running again so plan B was to part it out. So here I am.
Wanted to give forum members a heads up before I start listing things on ebay.
In summary here is what looks good (among many other smaller things):
Front and rear wheels with new Dunlops just put on before wreck.
Brake calipers look good
Dash fires up but throws "wrench" warning light (12k miles on bike)
Battery fully charges
Engine all fine except case on kickstand side and clutch cover cracked
Right side tank cover damaged but repairable. Left side fine.
Engine good for lots of parts.
Stock exhausts good (weren't on bike) as well as center pipe (fork portion that attaches to cans)
Lots of other stuff good
I'll post pics tomorrow but hit me up if you need anything and throw me an offer.
