I would be interested, if a 1999 M900 tank fits in with these options. Just something to consider also, Wrapping technology has improved considerably and would always be an option if Chris isn't able to make the tank paintable. I had a work vehicle wrapped in a solid color and it looked like paint, there was no way to tell the difference other than in my wallet as wrapping costs 1/20th the price of a custom paint job. There are lots of places but you can check out the website of http://www.360wraps.com/gallery.html obviously this is mostly used for logo'd stuff, but you can see where they did a custom color on a Ferrari. Just an option to think about.

04 S4R has metal tank. Why would you want to swap?

Yes, this Monster tank will be compatible across all of the ones with the similar shaped tank. Everything pre 696. The seat notch in the tank will be the EFI variant so carb'd people will need to find a new seat. That or I'll try a blend like my MTT tank does now.

BUT this new Monster tank will be as true to the rounded blob shape as possible. I'll see how many "modular" options I can work into the mold(s) ... like different shaped bottom sections to maximize our ability to meet everyone's needs. Now that I'm the molder as well as the architect, I think there are some tricks I can finally make happen. Having too many options means we won't keep everything in stock, tho.

And since it is going to be a digital design, it will be symmetric. Not like MTT tank which was sand cast from a wooden block carved out by hand.

To troll for people with negative attitudes?

Thank you for all your efforts with putting this together. I'm sure you've already thought of this, but the fuel pump opening in the bottom of the tank is round for up to I think '05 and oval for post '05. Will you be making two different molds for these different openings?

Yes, the round opening on our MTT tank is why this group buy was started. Yes, there will be modular sections on the mold to change how the fuel flange is made. Bonus: we've got the physical properties of the oval flange already working on the HM69 mold. I'll laser scan that mold, laser scan the plastic which comes from that mold, and layout the new flange in CAD.

Wait a minute! Just saw this. Does this 699 price apply to the Legendary Motorcycles Aluminum at $2,500 too?

S2R800, 996sps (sold), 1098R. RIP Kentucky kid

im curious as to what would lead you to make that association?

the $699 price was kind of a joke for me to gauge interest. turns out thats what Chris would charge anyway lol. the price listed is for a plastic tank made by CAC under the "group buy" standards.
