portable jump starters

Hello there, has any of you had a chance of using a portable jump starter? Any insights on this?

Not that, but I have motorcycle jumper cables and you can use normal jumper cables. The key is put them on your bike and on a car, turn the car ON but DO NOT START THE CAR. You get enough power from the car battery with the car, on but NOT RUNNING, you will blow your battery.

Thanks for your input marlene996. As my monster 796 battery is hard to access, found some link on another forum that has a sort of harness/adapter in which you can fit to the terminals and just waiting for the jump starter to be plugged in just like an outlet for the battery tender on my bike. But I guess I just have to accept the fact that riding season is over for me now coz its getting cold out here.

Ah, yea. I see what you mean. My bike has the same thing. I've got a terminal harness that sits on the terminals and a a plug with a lid on it hangs out by my frame (it's tucked away for riding).

This plug can plug into my battery tender, or also a special set of jumper cable ends.
