First Time for maintenance

Hey folks, been loving racking up the miles on my monster. So I am certainly not a gear head, but I was able to maintain oil changes, chain cleaning and adjustment on my prior bikes (all Honda's).

So what should be on list of tools/items to get? I need a spanner wrench to adjust the rear suspension correct? Any other special Italian tools? Also, where is the best place to get oil and filters.

I am losing a bit of faith the more I try to rely on the dealer, they havent been feeding me 100% accurate information, so I turn to you!

I get my oil from WalMart. I use Shell Rotella T6 diesel, and I buy my K&N filters from Amazon. the spanner tool i bought off Ebay for pretty cheap, like around $13. I have the 1100 EVO so I needed larger hex sockets for the oil screen, which I got from AutoZone. Large sockets for my rear wheel, i also got from Amazon.

I rent the valve adjustment tools from ducatitoolrental.

Thanks, I did some searching, does Ducati make their own filters? Couldn't find any, I was used to getting Honda filters for my old bikes.

They probably outsource them just like everyone else. I did some research and K&N is the brand that I feel most comfortable with as far as bang for buck. There are cheap filters on Amazon but I'm afraid I'm going to get what I pay for.
