Spectrum Motorsports - Irvine

Anyone know whats going on at Spectrum Motorsports? I never seem to be able to get anyone to answer the phone or my emails. The one time someone did answer the phone they couldn't help me and said that they were in 'transition'. What ever that means.

I have parts that are paid for that I'm now wondering if I'll ever receive or not!

Something strange is going on - I'd like to know what!

Never had a problem with Spectrum myself and always been treated well but haven't been there in awhile and can't say if something's changed. They haven't been as phone punctual since Rob left but could usually get through on a couple attempts. Only James by himself at the parts counter now which could be a factor.

Don't know what "in transition" means exactly, but suggest you drop in to scope it out and claim your parts. Or get a refund.

So, this is life after bevel drives, eh?

Spectrum / Southcoast in Irvine

Spectrum / South Coast Ducati is presently closed. I stopped by today and managed to get inside and saw that the car showroom was empty, but the Ducati showroom still had a few bikes parked there. It appeared that the parts area was intact and a bunch of Ducati / Dainese apparel was still on the racks. Didn't get a look at the service department.

Jamie Mottola, the (former?) owner was there with a couple cohorts who said they were closed and asked me to leave. I inquired about buying some Motul oil and a filter but was told they can't sell anything right now. They appeared to be engaged in a deep discussion which I did not want to interupt - but I did anyway and learned that they are considering relocating the business nearby (Lake Forest area) tho did not know precisely where or when, but possibly as soon as a week or two. Didn't get much detail but I hope they can pull that off.

Bottom line - if you bought stuff on a credit card, you should contact the card company right now and seek relief through them. If you paid by cash or check, let's hope the business resurfaces and makes good on your purchase. However, if they re-org, they may not be responsible for past sale of special order goods that were not delivered.

Be thankful you don't have a bike in for service. Might take awhile to get it back . . .

So, this is life after bevel drives, eh?
