To change or not to change: that is the question.

So I just took delivery of a 2005 m620 in pristine cosmetic shape with barely 300 miles on it. Basically, it's been covered in a garage with occasional summer rides since 2006 when it was first purchased.

The manual recommends the first oil change at 600 miles, but I'm wondering whether I shouldn't go ahead and change it now, given how long it's been sitting.

What do you think?

Any other things I should be concerned about?

Thanks!

I change the oil in every new to me vehicle I buy. If you're asking this question, you obviously have concerns.. its 5 years old.. so just change it.. but be mindful of the break in period and go easy on it until 600 miles. I bet your next question is.. what oil?.. good luck with that.

+1 Change it. I just picked up a 570 mile '04. The oil was disgusting.

Change it! And think hard about getting the belts changed too. They can get brittle from sitting for too long.
