Bar end removal help

Looked on UTube and all the vids showed some using a knife or pliers to remove the ends. Tried the knife and small screwdriver to pry them off to no success with out going on to total them. Can not be that tough so I must be missing something? Help

I wish it had a allen key. Went to the dealer to pick up some parts and they told me the part was cheap and just pull it off how ever. Oh well so much for taking care when removing some parts.

I assumed all bikes had metal bar ends and didn’t know Ducati were so cheap on the lower models. I went looking now and seen lower numbered monster plastic cap.. what happened to a bar weight there/help reduce vibration.. pic of mine to show why I said Allen key and every other Honda I had also the same. I recommend weighted bar end for you all the same..

Pulled the plug

So I just used pliers and twisted it out with no trouble, looked at other new models on the dealer floor and they were all the same or at least the ones I saw. 18MM ID for what that is worth. I was surprised that the plug was undamaged after removal.

A knife and a little bit of patient did it for me. Good thing that I didn't break them because after I installed my cheap mirrors and realized how crappy they were I went back to the originals. Now I'm trying to justify the $300 investment on the CRG arrow mirrors.
