2019 hitch carrier review

Hi all, I don't see a lot of unbiased info out there about hitch mounted m/c carriers. After selling my dedicated bike trailer I needed another option, so checked into hitch carriers. I picked up the 600lb rated Black Widow rack (looks exactly like the GoPlus version). If anyone is interested I will upload pics, tips and conclusions.

I wave to everyone on two wheels (unless it's a car).

I'm in the market for one and have cone accross the same issue. Personally I felt they were too flimsy for big bikes. But I really don't want to deal with a trailer (tag, inspections, cost, storage).

Let me know you initial thoughts and how it works out.

Also I drive like a Lil dickish. Not crazy, but I like to skirt the law let's say. How do you think it'll hold up with some who changes lanes when it suites them?

2019 hitch carrier review

I have the Moto Tote and it has worked great for me in the past. Used it for my Monster (now sold), and all three of our scramblers. They make two sizes, and we have the larger one that supports up to 650lbs I think. Here’s a pic of me taking the monster in for service. Super easy to use!

Current:‘16 Scrambler Icon, ‘18 1100 Sport
Sold: ‘15 Monster 1200, ‘14 Diavel Strada, ‘12 Monster 1100evo, ‘09 Monster 1100, ‘08 NM Hypermotard #7

Thanks barkertodd I'm definitely going to check that out too. I guess the real question I have is, is it strong enough to hook my bike to it and bring my suv with me.

MotoTote looks nice. I use the Black Widow Steel rack MCC-600 to carry my bike to have it serviced as well. The aluminum version looks cooler but was 50.00 more which I put towards nice mighty-tie soft tie downs straps. Plus the alum version is only 1lb lighter.

The carrier is sturdy and well built, welds are good. I added 4" grip tape to the ramp and carrier for traction loading/unloading.

The rack weighs 100lbs, bike is around 400, my Silverado 4x4 receiver load rating is 600lbs. I added magnetic led tail lights to be visible/legal since the truck lights were partially blocked by the bike. Used black gorilla tape to insure the lights stayed in place.

I have 227.00 shipped in the rack, 35.00 for lights, 25.00 for misc. cable management, truck plug adapter, and 4" x 15' grip tape. Just shy of 290.00 all told.

Two person job to load unless you don't mind the possibility of being on youtube!

I wave to everyone on two wheels (unless it's a car).
