Fuel tank removal HELP

Hi,
I Need help please to remove the fuel tank of the monster 1200.

I was looking for a video if possible or pics at least tried google and nothing detailed.

Seat removed, I removed the pin by the back of the tank and can only lift it 5cm up from the back.

The front has a carbon fibre key cover does this need to be removed? As they say remove this and it will lift up but yet double sided tape for cover I don’t believe is easy to remove key cover. And didn’t want to wreck it.

I Need to check under for a pinched or disconnect wire as it won’t start even display has it as 13.2v lithium

TIA

Take the key cover off and remove the elastic band from the tank .... then remove the conection near the seat so you can lift from the back and get to the fuel hoses in front

I will try to load the pics from the maintenance manual

Cheers

Thanks for the above,

I also found some pics to help me and I will do the same to help others.this link was a great help.

THE TRICK IS... the 2 black nuts are deceiving as you may believe like me this was a part of the frame. They are not and are a separate part that needs removing. With me having a steering dampener and removing this one believes that is it along with a carbon key cover with belief that was taped on.

Pics to reference.. hope this helps others as it did with me.
