What kind of oil should I get?

Hello,
I have a 2014 Monster 1200S and looking for the best oil and viscosity. Any suggestions?

I used the motul 300V 15w50 with my old 2010 696.

I live in New York.

Help!

If I'm remembering correctly I emailed Motul USA last Oct. To see if they had an oil for the monster 1200. At that time they said they did not but I now see on their website that they list the 300V 15w50 for the 1200. I would email them just to double check.
Can't really comment on which oil is best but for NY weather I would follow the chart in the manual which states what viscosity oil you should use for three temperature range you ride in which for us New Yorkers is the 15w50.
I use the shell 4t that came in the bike and will probably continue to use that for no other reason than my dealer said that's what they use and I trust them.

*yawn* Rotella T6 5w-40. Yeah yeah, tell me I'm an idiot, etc.

It blew up at 18k miles running Ducati's preferred oil, we'll see how long it lasts running the Rotella. It's made it to 24k miles so far without issue. I figure it'll be lucky to make it to the 36k service without something else major going south anyways and at that point it'll be worth about zlich on the used market anyways so I might as well save 70% in oil cost.

You're not supposed to run Rotella, you're supposed to run Nutella!

This would explain the kids chasing me down the street with loaves of bread...

Besides, it's from Italy too!

Use what ever you like with the correct weight and make sure it's JASO rated. I use Castrol oil.Click image for larger version

Chevron Delo heavy duty oil

I had a lengthy discussion with an oil industry veteran who recommended Chevron Delo heavy duty diesel oil specifically for the Ducati because it has an excellent additive package. I decided to switch from the Łber-expensive Shell "synthetic" to the Delo and see how it went. After running it for a year I've had no problems, and the transmission is smoother and quieter. I run 10W-40. Bonus: It's cheap as hell and Wal-Mart carries it in gallon containers.
