Akrapovic headers with termi slip ons for my monster 1200?

So I bought just the slip ons thinking that would be all I wanted. Then someone told me that he knew of a person with the full exhaust system and it was much louder. I like loud. I dont see any listing for just the termi headers, and saw the Akrapovic ones. Can I use that or will there be fitment issues?

With out knowing if the diameter of the pipe is the same as the termi slip on pipe I'm going to say no unless your ok cutting it.

You can see here: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/a...ter-1200-s-821

With out using the full Akrapovic header it uses a link pipe but with the full header its not using that link pipe so it would have to be cut to fit.

Would probably be better to just keep an eye on eBay for a termi header to come up. I've seen one so far since owning my Monster 1200.

Keep in mind the Akra headers are titanium they will turn bright blue, you can see this in the Shift-Tech pictures.

I would think the sound difference is from the elimination of the exhaust valve. I would start by removing this if sound is all you want.

Someone else mentioned that to me. I will look around for a guide on how to do that.

I haven't done this personally, but if you read the thread below you'll get some info. Apparently the valve defaults to the open position when the cable is removed since it is spring loaded. I doubt that there is any noticeable restriction with it in the full open position.
