Front Sprocket to 14T

Loving the 1200S so far. What I don't love is that it tends to bog down on low revs especially on a turn. I usually have to feather the clutch before I give it more gas. Will switching to 14t on the front sprocket solve this? Anybody done this mod on their 1200S? And is this the correct sprocket for the job?

Huh are you sure you are in the right gear. I don't think I have that issues.

does this happen in all gears or just in first?

I'm on a 796 and had the same issue in first, in the city at an intersection or an extremely tight turn.
the 14t sprocket solved it completely.... and I didn't lose any useable top end speed

Ive always had to ease the clutch out in 1st on Ducs. Can ride without doing it just feels smother to do so esp very low speed turns (90 degree from stop type stuff).

I've noticed it only on the 1st gear on low speed turns. I'm coming from an S1000RR so maybe I still have to get used to the v-twin. It's better on the Sport mode but I can still feel a boggynes on turns.

It improved for me after the ECU update and over time. Am at 3,000 miles now and no issue really, unless it's below 2K rpm, which is normal to me considering the engine.

They're Ducs, they're how they ride/behave. they're V2 after all...

Learn how to ride them properly and stop expecting every single thing on this planet to behave exactly the same, if you wanted "smooth" there's always I4's and 3Cyl bikes...

The 14T is not a panacea.

Ducs = clutch feathering on 1st gear, it is what it is, get used to it

And if you can't get over it, please consider a change to the rear sprocket instead. Going 1 smaller on the front will alleviate your problem, but it is the cheap and nasty way to do it.

The ratio is about 3:1 front rear to front, so a 3 tooth change at the rear gives you the same result, but without the extra stress put on the gear shaft and the chain. Sure, costs more.........

Never buy a bike from someone who has gone the cheap route. Smacks of what else they have skimped on.

Hey Rosso thanks for your brilliant insight. I guess I have to work on NOT expecting EVERY single thing on this planet to be the same because obviously you deduced that from my single post about the sprocket. My post was about my observations and how to solve my perceived issues. The lazyness on slow speed turns is a known issue on monsters judging from many forum posts online.

I setup my entry speed and in a turn on steady on the gas. I don't feel the jerkiness you feel and I ride in sport mode. If I'm t going that slow and I know the bike is going to jerk, I slip the clutch. Most of the time I'm riding in a higher rpm anyway.
