Bike Info: 2006 Ducati Monster S2R Dark
Where purchased:
I purchased mine relatively new from fellow ducatisti here at
DML forum but it can be purchased at company website http://www.powerstands.com
Why purchased:
I needed to find a better and safer way of lubing my chain and
working on the bike. I’m not much of the mechanic I prefer to
have most of the work done by the dealer, but lubing the chain
is something I think I should be done at every 500mi so it’s easier
for me to perform this operation myself in my garage.
Did the product solve the problem or achieve the goal?
If not, why?
Yes this product exactly did what I anticipated, if not more.
Now when I’m lubing the chain or working on a bike I always use
the Mario Stand.
Features you thought worked well on the product:
I especially like a fact that handle is reversable so you can
lift the bike on the stand from back or from the side (as shown
on the photos bellow). Stand is really sturdy and the finish is
nice ( I think is powder-coated but I’m not expert in paints so
don’t take my word for it).
Installation:
Installation is a breeze especially from the side. I still feel
uncomfortable lifting the bike from the back when I don’t have
extra pair of hands helping me. Not that I’m not doing it alone
but I just prefer to have somebody holding the bike wile I’m installing
it from the back. Taking a bike down from the stand I also found
easier when is installed on the side because naturally it leans
right on the sidestand.
Summary:
I don’t think that it’s cheap to pay $175 for the stand but I
think it’s well worth it especially because this one is reversible.
On the powerstands website I learned that this stand can be used
for wheel removal when installed from the side and sprocket removal
when installed from the back. I also forget to mention that handle
is removable with quick release pin witch was included in my purchase.
That is really helpful if you are planning to work on the bike
for the longer period of time so that handle is not on your way.
Here are some photos I took on the stand.
