Reason product was purchased
I am 5'8" and my riding position felt too far forward for me. I've
had an
injury to my right arm and was experiencing discomfort in my hand and arm
after riding.
After installation and a test ride I believe a couple of benefits were
recognized. My position seemed more comfortable with less pressure on my
hands and a
surprise that my corners became, for me, much smoother. It seemed that the
slightly more
upright position suited my riding style. I seem to favor a "dirt bike"
style of riding
and a check of my tires showed I had a greater lean angle after a series
of corners.
Features that worked well
- Bars are higher and further back.
- Installation is not complicated if you comfortable with tools and taking your bike apart, especially handlebars.
Features or design that did not work well
- The risers are not black and do not match my existing bar clamps. I resolved this with a couple of coats of satin black.
- The risers I received may have been able to fit slightly better.
- I have a slight gap at the bottom of each riser, however, the bars fit well in their position.
- There is no problem at the bolt position.
Installation or compatibility issues
Installation was straight forward. I had to cut a wire tie and wiggle wire and braided lines to get the clearance I needed.
My brake line seems a little tight, however, the fitting appears to be
rotated slightly upward. I will loosen
that and it should help.
Summary
These risers are slightly better priced than the others I looked at. Shipping
was reasonable and I had them in a couple of days. I had to call to order
during business
hours, however, the phone help was fine. I like the idea that I am dealing
with actual
Ducati people for special parts. The risers look well made and if the competition
risers
were of the same quality and didn't fit any better I would do this again.
