Man...I was actually wishing these links were working. I'm thinking of making my stock exhaust louder on the cheap somehow, but not do a garbage job. Maybe I should search the forum better.
It's pretty simple depending on your bike.
If your mufflers are the type with an aluminum sleeve you drill out the rivets, pop the end cap off, slide the sleeve off and use a sawzall and cut about a third of the muffler off.
Slide the sleeve back on, tap the end cap on, drill through the holes in the end cap into the sleeve and rivet the end cap to the sleeve.
Use aluminum rivets so they don't rust.
Hey I did the s2r 1000 muffler chop to get a better note, but still it sounded a little tinnier.
I ended up buying a marving midpipe to get rid of the ugly cat box and waited for a pre loved set of termi's from ebay.
Much happier now I wish I didn't bother cutting the stock cans.
attached is a utube link.
Hey, thank you for the video. Yeah, I didn't think about it sounding tinny with the cored mufflers...I'm not a fan of that either. I think I'll probably skip coring out the mufflers and keep the exhaust fully stock. I'm trying to sell the bike anyway, was just trying to think of something to allow me to enjoy the bike more while I have it. Thanks for the reply.
