New to the life, help me out?

Hey all, ryan here.

I just signed up for the forums, and figured I'd introduce myself.

I've ridden a couple of times in my life but have never owned a motorcycle. I've owned domestic and import sports cars and enjoyed modifying them. But now that I'm a little older, 29, I feel that I'm at a place where I can trust myself to be responsible with a bike.

I'll be taking my MSF course this weekend and have been looking very intensely at the Monsters and Sport 1000s. I'm thinking the latter might be the route I'm going to take, but this forum seems to be the largest of the Ducati forums.

So, a couple of questions:
1- would I be better suited to a different forum? Or are you guys gonna convince me on the Monsters?
2- are there any groups in dallas that I could meet up with to get to know the Ducati folks?
3- know of any good used sport 1000s or S2Rs in the area?
4- any other advice?
