Seems like Austin has a lot of the positive things I liked about AZ, FL and WA all rolled into one..just on a smaller/less of a scale of course, i.e.: the heat, the ocean, the mountains, the sights.
It has great weather! Well, right now at least. Unfortunately, the humidity will come along with the bugs and allergies! Argh..the reasons I left MI!! :-[ At least it doesn't rain or snow all winter long!!
I'll certainly miss the mtns of AZ and WA but the TX hill country offers some great views and from what I've seen..good riding!
After living in the coastal cities, I found that I love being by the water. The lakes here are nice and will offer a lof of water fun. I've been wanting to get into kayaking and saw a ton of them in Lake Austin earlier today. [thumbsup]
The people here are happy..like in FL and AZ! The NW people are nice but..it's typically weather dependent. I found myself getting like that too after the past winter. I gotta get out of that place!! I've become way too negative! The weather really does play a MAJOR role on attitudes.
Like I said in my other thread..It didn't even feel like I was in TX. Which was a great feeling! I've been all throughout this state and most of the places we were at this weekend, seemed more like Portland or Seattle. I'm sure I'll get a different taste though once I'm living out by Lake Travis. This place has a good vibe though!
I'm not looking forward to the traffic but it's nothing compared to rush hour in Kirkland/Bellevue/Seattle. Not yet at least!!
