LOVE this bike- First ride on the M600.
Ooohmigoodness. First ride on the 600. L-O-V-E.
Speedymoto sliders came in this afternoon and once Hugh got home, we got them on in like, 15 minutes. Those things are awesome. Had the gear waiting next to the bike, so the second they were on, we called up Progressive, took the Ninja off our policy, and added the M600. Would have saved like $180 with the swap if it wasn't a metallic, but- oh well. (By the way, we love Progressive- 7 pm and it takes us literally a few minutes to make this switch on our policy.)
Rode the bike around the parking garage, but it started setting car alarms off ( ;D *awesome*) so didn't take me long to get it outside to the parking lot across the street. Just rode it around, seeing what would take to get it to stall, etc., got a feel for the brakes, clutch and throttle- SO EASY! When I first started riding the Ninja, I remember asking Hugh why he never stalled his bike when he first got it (SV1000), and he said it was the torque. Now, I get it.
Took it from home to the Rice Village, then out to Berryhill Tamales/Tacos. This was great- I chose a route with max stoplights and stop signs, so it didn't take long to get used to the bike at low speeds. Handles like a *dream* and everything just feels so smooth and stable. There's something about the weight distribution of this bike that just feels right.
The way back home was DIVINE. Took Alabama from the Village, across Montrose, and back downtown. The gardenias and night blooming jasmine are in their full glory and the smell was just amazing. The whole time I kept thinking, "THIS is what a motorcycle should feel like."

Nooo! I had no idea until I saw the map you posted in another thread. I've lived in Houston for entirely too long and I still don't know about the good stuff. That looks fuuun and it's a whole *3* miles away.
Looks like I took my first ride on a good evening- weather's naaaasty this morning and I would have gone crazy waiting another day. I found my "vicious" pit bull huddled in the closet on the laundry basket at 5 am.

You should ride the ride out to Fayetteville - via New Ulm and Freiburg (I can't spell). Between Freiburg and Fayetteville are a hand full of nice turns.

This weekend will be beeeeeeautiful for you to explore... I'll keep my eyes peeled for the sparkles as I'll probably be running some errands in the same area on my S2R Dark.

Hmm, never been up that way. I've only ever taken the Ninja out around Hempstead/Waller since I fly out of an airport near there, which isn't very far out of Houston at all, though we have taken the bikes with us in the bed of the truck on some other trips to New Mexico and Corpus. I have a break coming up... so many places to go! Must show off bike!
