Default to the people who ride Lime creek.....

w/ a monster in around 800 size, what gear do you guys ride for the 15 mph hairpins? When I hit them in 1st it feels like it's just too slow, when I'm in second it feels like my rpms are too low. Maybe I can start trying to take it a little faster in second but that would be moving pretty quick.

I always wear gear, and that's one rd I ride at my own pace! I like to ride it by myself just to practice my technique, it's ten minutes from my house, but thanks for caring ;D, I don't plan on leaving this earth just yet!

sounds like you may want to re gear the bike a bit lower. I take the 10mph curves down in 1st, usually do the same for the 15mph, except for a few...

I'm very careful how much speed I'm taking on the curves with elevation changes going upwards too as that's how I crashed the last time (hard mounted pegs dragging)...

OK, no posting for me after having a few beers [laugh] -- wrong meaning for gear ... man do I feel like a doofus.

I had the S2R 800 myself, and don't recall dropping to 1st on that road - but can't remember for sure. I do know I was planning on changing the drive sprocket to get a bit more low end.

Thanks for the input guys! I guess the easiest way to lower my gear ration would be a 14t sprocket correct?

And those change of elevation turns get me too heiro, I'm not quite ready to throw myself into them w/ reckless abandon [cheeky], I never thought about scraping going uphill though thanks for the info!
