Default hedman header exhaust

Soooo, I went ahead and ordered the pipes from Jegs, and of course they are on back order. So if any exhaust savvy guys in the Austin area want to lend expertise or a hand w/ installation. Hit me up! They won't ship until 4/5/08 (estimated). What I can't figure out is what I need to do or get to get both pipes out on the same side w/ the udder off. On the threads I've searched no one says what pipe they've used to make it fit, I think one guy used a quat-d header but I'm not sure. Any info or help would be apreciated.

DzRad, be more specific in what it is you want to do....did you buy a midpipe/full system/just cans?

Do you have a pic of the new Jegs pipes? or a link?

I'll be glad to help out as much as I can.....

I haven't bought a mid pipe yet, I want the cat gone, I just wanted to not to have to pay hundreds of dollars for it, maybe get one done locally. This is a thread w/ the tips I ordered.

And here's where I ordered them from.

I'll probably order some baffles for them as well.

Man, that setup looks great angled back like that.....sounds like the baffles would be needed for proper running? At least have them just in case...

I am in complete agreement with you that somebody in this town should be able to bend up a set of stinking header pipes....maybe a proper car racing specialty shop....I dunno about cost though as it would be "prototype" work....maybe you could work a deal if they can keep the jig/numbers they might be able to get a return by selling more to others on this board...there is definately a market here....

We can definately R & R the OEM exhaust system...but you'd have to then take the machine to the exhaust shop for fitment...which may take a few days....

actually, if you're going to get custom header made up, you should think about having the header go 'up and around' the right side case cover like it does on the new monster, you'll gain more clearance and a cleaner look

Well guys I just ordered a quat-d mid pipe..... for my b'day (wifey's gettin it for me)..... I'll keep you guys updated how everything is going w/ this project. I picked this pipe because it doesn't block the oil drain for ease of oil changes (from what I've read).

tips will eventually be black, I'm undecided on painting or using header wrap, on the header.
