SE Texas DOC Group Ride Saturday (6 April) RESCHEDULED
29 March Rescheduled to 6 April
Sun 4/6 - SETexDOC Day Ride
This time it's Dogwoods! We'll follow the Dogwood Trail through the Crockett National Forest and areas of the Big Thicket, enjoying the dogwood trees in spectacular full bloom. Of course we'll squeeze in every curvy road we can find. This will be a full day ride, and may involve 10-15 miles of Forest Service roads. The route will be adjusted to the comfort level and bikes of those who come along. Join us for this classic springtime ride.
- Breakfast, 8:00 AM
Gather at IHOP
19711 Eastex Freeway (See map)
(US 59 at FM 1960)
- Kickstands up, 9:00 AM
Off to the Dogwoods!

I just got through reading a discussion with regards to caution on east Texas roads, that might be worthy of note.
There is a big problem with wild hogs out on the country lanes and in some cases even on the busier roadways.
I'm talking about the 4 legged type which would not be a good thing to run into.
For those who go, keep your eyes open and be safe. oh yeah, buzzards chomping away at the remains of hogs that have already been dispatched by cagers is another issue.

Funny that you'd say that as our last DOC ride through the forest passed just such a scene; 1486 iirc. Huge arsed hog dead on the side of the road with 5 or 6 buzzards chomping away.

Long week at work has me a bit out of breath. Need tomorrow to re-energize, maybe I'll find time to install my new Ohlins steering damper for my S4"r'd". :P

Make a note never let DrJones lead a ride. Ever. or just make sure I have recently bought any new tools as you may just have to use them on the ride.
