I think my Stator is broken.
So went for a nice ride Saturday and when we were done with our Kobe burger I went to start my Monster and no go. I had to push start it. On the way back I had to push start it a couple more time after gas and a stop at the look out point.
When I pulled into town and stopped at a light it just died. I tried to push start it again and nothing. So when I finally got the bike home thanks to my Uncle and my Pops. I put the bike on the charger and took it down today to get it tested. Load test says 13v, health test says 105% and the charge was at 87%.
Sounds like it's the stator? Just not completely sure. I am taking it in for an inspection at the dealer, hopefully they can diagnose the problem. I still have the warranty so if it is the stator then it's covered.
Only problem is I just clicked over the 7,500 mile mark. I already have an appointment with another dealer to complete the service since it's $300 bucks cheaper. They want to charge $850 or so at my local shop for the service and the other shop says between $500 and $600.
Should I say go ahead with the service since they are doing my warranty work? Or should I have them do the work and then take it to the other shop? Just asking for opinions. I think I will try and have them come down on price to match the other shop and if they do I will have them do the service as well.

I would start the bike and check the battery at about 3,000 rpm, if it isn't putting out close to 14v, it is the regulator (maybe a fuse)

Which fuse should I look at?
I don't think I have the volt meter to test.

You can buy a multimeter for about $10. Go to radio shack or something. You should have a master fuse somewhere. Read your manual.

I would look at the list of items on the 7500 mile service and do the oil change and as many others as I can. Then ask them to just quote specifically those items you can't do yourself. Should be less than a 1 hour service charge for those few remaining items.
Worked for me.

So the bike is in the shop and I talked with the tech; He thinks it's the charging system and he was going to test the bike today and let me know what they find out.
I also spoke with them about getting the service done and let them know what I was quoted from another shop. The service guy is going to call the other shop and see if that is true. So it's sit and wait time. He was like we have mouths to feed and that whole thing and I was like so do I. Close mouths don't get feed. It doesn't hurt to ask.
I will have to wait for a few weeks to get the parts from Italy for the charging system. They also don't do loaner bikes like the other shop does. Oh well.

I'm going out on a limb here, still think it is the R/R.
No need to wait a few weeks, if they test it and it is just the R/R, you (or they) can get on the phone and call around to some of the larger Ducati dealers around the US until you find one in stock, and then have it UPS'ed to you or the shop.
I had the same issue, all the dealers I could access easily told me I had to wait for one from Italy, it took me 4 phone calls to find one, and then had it overnighted to me so I could get back on the road.
You could also look here for a R/R

Did they do a dealer swap? Or did you have to pay for it. Since it's under warranty I don't want to have to come out of pocket for it if it's not necessary.

My bike is an 01, so no warrenty for me.
OTOH, if you went to the cheaper shop, you will still probably come out ahead paying $120 for a R/R and not being tied up for a few weeks.
