I know the Streetfighter S has a taller ride height and it looks like they mount up the same.

Okay, the Streetfighter S and the Monster 1100 have the same rear shock. You can from what I understand switch out the rear swingarm of an 1100 with the dss on the 696. If you can do that then you should in theory be able to mount up the Streefighter S Rear end as well. However; I don't know if it will give you the ride height increase that you are looking for.

Hyper shocks are also different however have the same mounting ends so those might work. Would be cool if ducati created a legend on the diagrams or schematic to show parts that will fit as a straight swap from other models. i.e. colour tabs that matched

i'll call the local dealer and inquire if the hyper shock will give me some height. even if i do, it sure won't get me 3inchs that's for sure.

I had a '65 Malibu Wagon at one point. The only parts swap legend I could find was my dad. He knew a heap about which parts would swap out from other models.

I know what you mean. Good luck with the project! Post picks when it's done. I will switch out my DSS for a SSS once I am done paying for the thing!
