Default Engine case saver for 696?

What engine case savers would you recommend for the 696?
I noticed that no one seems to make anything for the generator/alternator side. Speedymoto said that this side rarely gets damaged during a spill.

I already have frame sliders, but I was reading numerous articles in Sport Rider, Motorcyclist, etc... where they rave about R&G / GB / Yoshimura case savers.

I was wondering if this is recommended for the wet clutch side of my 696 engine, and if so, what brands would you recommend?

I'm not sure I have even seen what you may be talking about. Is this a bolt on cover or is it like a frame slider?

A bolt-on cover.

It's something like this one, which is on my Aprilia.

GB Racing makes one for The 696, but I was curious: how does the plastic part bolt to the engine? Are the crankcase covers torqued down by those bolts? Wouldn't the plastic distort/melt/soften with the heat, and cause the fasteners to lose their torque?

Are you sure? I did not see the monster as being a listed model

I screwed up, it's RG Racing:

http://www.rg-racing.com/browseBike/...ECC0046BK.aspx

I get the GB and RG racing companies mixed up. I also found one from Sling Shot Racing and Speedymoto, but I am questioning their necessity / effectiveness on the Monster. The more I read about race-prepping a bike, the less I want to track the 696 but I'm curious about their protective capabilities on the street.

On my bike: first, three of the bolts (and their washers) that attach the OEM metal clutch cover to the engine are removed (it's intuitive which ones to remove because the GB "secondary clutch cover" as they call it fits only one way); second, the GB cover is placed over the OEM clutch cover; third, three new bolts supplied with the GB cover are installed in place of the three bolts that were removed, reusing the OEM washers; fourth, the three new bolts are tightened to the correct torque (in my case, 13Nm).

I doubt that the GB cover is mere "plastic" and I figure that, to the extent it's necessary, GB knows how to make or specify high-temperature material for their secondary covers, so I think it's unlikely that it'll melt or soften. Also, my RSV4's OEM metal clutch cover is magnesium and the bolts that attach it to the engine need to be regularly checked for proper torque anyway.
