Default 1098 engine in an 06 S4R frame

basic question - will the engine bolt in?

I have an opportunity to buy a 1098 engine, wiring harness, computer etc and thought it would be a cool upgrade to my 06 S4R,

comments, considerations?

It can be done but a LOT of work, the swing arm on the 1098 locates to the frame, where as the monster locates to the engine, also the airbox is different.

the pivot rod apears to go through the block but it does also go through the frame. The frame is outside the swingarm. Get an extra few tubes welded onto the frame and you can get a complete swingarm off ebay for under $800. you can even pick up a 1098 frame with a busted head tube if you need the measurements and/or just want to cut up the back of the frame for parts for cheap. and then go for filter cans for the intake

Do it! Were having some fun modding 916's with 1098/1198 engines in a neighbour forum, might give you some inspiration.
Swing arm as mentioned youll have to sort but nothing too difficult. Good luck!

I'm about this '' far from pulling the trigger.

it's a good deal - complete engine, clutch, fuel injection, wiring harness and cornputer deal from a guy.

i'll make the decision on friday before the bank closes.

cash talks!
