Default 696 handle bar risers?

I just bought a 696 a few months ago and would like to give it a slightly more upright riding position. I assume this will be to increase the handlebar height. Can anyone give me suggestions or has anyone done this themselves?

Eastern Cycle: http://www.easterncycleducati.com
has made risers for previous Monsters, but I'm not sure that they have any out for the 696 yet. Give them a call. One thing that you might want to consider with the 696 is how the handlebars fit into the air intake on the tank covers when the handlebars are in the full left or right position. I would not want to put risers on if the handlebars would make contact with the tank. I've had my 696 for a little over 3 months and at first I thought that I would like risers, but after riding for a while I find the riding position to be quite satisfactory.

Thanks! Sounds good to me. Which model RIZOMA bars did you buy and where from? Did you change them yourself or have the shop do it?

Got it from PJsParts.com, the model is the 22mm (not the Conical), they have all kinds of colors; I elected the black one because al my controls are black, so it gives a clean look. Make sure you get the Rizoma Billet Grips and the Rizoma bar ends (you really need the bar ends), the inside diameter of the bar is a lot smaller than the rest (way more rigid handle bar), the bar itself it's a five minute to remove and replace but it comes without any holes for the controls. That it's the only part that you need to take your time to do it right, overhall It took me 1 1/2 hours from begining to finish using only basic scredrivers, a dremel and a drill.

It's really easy!

Looks great! Just disregard the Email I sent you. I just realized that you did not use bar risers, but replaced the stock handlebar with the Rizoma 22mm bar. From the look of the photo it appears that the bars or controls impacting the tank cover when turned full lock is not an issue. Is that correct?

Right! Just the Kill switch (right side) has to be turn slightly more than with the stock handlebars.

Great info ! This alone convinced me to pick up a Monster. I sat on one at the Long Beach IMS show today and all I could think was "If the bars were only a bit higher...". Thanks, Is this your first Duc? Any issues ?
