Default washers for rear sprocket. good or bad idea.

ok I put a power pilot 180 rear on about a year ago. and the chain rubbed a nice little zig zag mark around the outer edge. Not deep but rubbed the edge off. The ducati shop that installed it said it would be fine and so far it has been but just that i was wondering if i could put washers around the inside of the sprocket enough to get the chain off the tire and give it a little room. Good Idea or Bad?

BAD…..Very bad, the chain will be out of alignment.

You have either fitted an oversize tyre or one with a different profile (shape). Suggest you go back to the correct tyre and standard profile.

X1000000....you'll end up causing more damage in the long run (aka can take out trans bearings if the mis-alignment is off far enough)

Also, I would be a little concerned about a shop that would fit a tire that rubbed on the chain and would say that is ok!

You can space the rear sprocket as long as you check the alignment with the front sprocket & also space it, if neccesary. Keep in mind that the futher out the front sprocket is on the output shaft, the harder it is on the shaft bearing. I would't worry unless you space it near the very end of the shaft.
