Question Some RPM questions for a Veypor tach

Hi everyone, im setting up a Veypor speedo/tach thing on a 1997 m900. I've never had a tach on the bike and have to set this thing up so im looking for a little help with a few questions:

1) What should redline be?
2) What are the high and low limits i should set for a shift light?
3) The tach picks up a signal from the coil (grey wire). what should the multiplier be to achieve the correct rpm?
4) What are the gear ratios for each gear 1-6? I have a m750 shop manual that may have this somewhere assuming it has the same tranny/gearing... also the device wants me to actually ride it in each gear to calibrate it, but then id have to go to the highway to cruise in top gear so hopefully i can just enter them, i guess i'll have to see about that.

Thats all! Thanks a lot to whomever happens to answer any or all of these, if i really need to i can probably figure some of them out, but with all these great ducatiheads here i figured somebody can help me out. thanks again!

Q3: RPM multiplier for Ducati is 7
Q4: you can only set the ratios calibrating when riding for the Veypor.

My 2000 900IE has a rev limiter around the 9000-9500 mark but the action is well over by then. I'd set your first light at 8500 and the red light at 9000. You normally change up before then anyway.

When you wrap the pick-up wire around your plug wire make sure you tape it or cable tie it so it doesn't move on the lead. This should eliminate most the tach jumping Veypors experience.
