Default Countershaft Bearing Exploded

Hello all - i've been lurking around here for awhile. Tonight I was out for a ride - cruising and out of nowhere i hear a god awful noise and have total loss of power. Pull over to have a look and the countershaft bearing took a complete shat - the bike was stopped immediately upon it hapening. Here is my question - holding the output shaft in place I can go through the gears by hand and it feels as though they are all ok. What are the chances my gears were damages? and does the case have to be split to replace the bearing?

also - i just had the tire replaced this weekend. I know this was cause by overtightening of the chain - my fault for not checking but i feel they should be held responsible for the repairs.

Thanks

Try to work with the people that changed your tire but they may or may not help. You will have to split the cases anyway so you can check out the gears (and everything else) once you get it open.
