Default coughing, backfiring '04 m620- dealer code is faulty TPS, anyone DIY?

My monster was backfiring randomly when the throttle was held steady (mostly while pacing traffic), took it in and dealer reads code that the TPS is faulty. Cost of part $330 plus two hours labor. I searched but couldn't find specific info on how to replace. Anyone ever write up a post on this? Or could anyone describe how to do it myself? I'm pretty mechanically inclined and wouldn't mind tackling myself, unless these electrical monsters should be left to the professionals.

Thanks for any help.
