Default Frozen 900m Any suggestion?

I was riding, passing a slow car and my engine stopped locking the rear wheel, I think the engine is dead. I got it home and try a few things to see if I could turn the engine a nothing. So I am thinking rebuild or something more. What would you do?

Start looking for the specific problem. Will it shift gears? Pull the plugs & see if there's any trash in there. Check your belt alignment to see if you jumped a tooth. Pull the belts & see if one side turns ove. Then.....pull a head (or 2) and see if it's a top end problem or a bottom end problem. These are usually a piston/valve problem but I've also seen rods snap.

It shift gears, no trash in plugs, belt aligned. Will pull belts tonight (see if turns) and head tonight. Is it hard to rebuild?

Check to see if its electrical. This happened to me when my relay went out, bike just shut off while in gear. But if the engine won't turn over by hand, then it might be bad news.

If it's a top end repair, it shouldn't be too expensive or difficult (happy to walk you thru it). If it's the bottom end, sometimes it's cheaper to buy a used motor.

Last night took the heads off, they seem to be working fine. Still can not get engine to move. How do you tell if it is bottom end of the engine?

if you cant spin the rear tire while its in 3rd gear or higher bad news bud. Smell the oil if it smells like burnt metal you seized it. if not check the clutch and flyweel simple and easy take them out and try to spin the weel. if you cant spin the tire its your gear box. if you can your getting closer. the bearings on the crank shaft are seized from what you have said the cams are turning if what i read is correct. if it is the crank find the large bolt thats on the crank (should be exposed) put a torque rench on it and try to turn it. if you have diffuculty or you cant there is your problem... the bottom end needs to be rebuilt and or replaced.

From your description, I'd guess a broken rod or crank. But, do as swinger said 1st before you split the cases. If you end up junking it, email me 1st, I use a few stock parts in my upcoming motors & would buy them from you if available.
