Hi
I have an Australian 2007 model S2R800 and I am about to take the Dremel to the cans and core them. (I have a spare set).
In pondering the potential ECU issues I found that there is no PCIII for this model, apparently because it is closed loop.
However, my understanding of closed loop is that there is an O2 sensor on the headers that provides data back to the ECU. Yet on my S2R there is no O2 sensor, and no mention of it in the factory manual. The headers are plugged off.
Am I right in assuming that no O2 sensor means not closed loop ?
Maybe there is a difference between the USA / Europe-Rest of World versions ?
you are in luck, as you say no lamba sensor means no closed loop, once you have done your exhaust mod, try it, if you think the bike is running lean / rich just fit a power commander for an earlier model S2R 800.
I am in the USA and did add a Power Commander to my 07 S2R 800. It did not have the O2 sensor and I did not need to replace the ECU. It really made a great improvement with a custom map from the Dyno and the full Zard exhaust. I think they do not list the 07 models as some of the bikes at the end of 07 did have the O2 sensor.
